Front door design options
What colour options are available?
When you supply Origin Front Doors, your customers can choose between a range of different colours for the panel, sash and frame. We offer over 150 different RAL colours and finishes, ensuring your customers find the right fit for their home. Your customers also have the option of going for a dual-colour option, where the outside external door colour matches the home’s exterior while the inside complements the interior design.
When choosing a front door colour, your customers should think about the design and aesthetic of their home, and whether they want their front door colour to match their existing doors and windows in the property. At Origin, customers are able to have all of their door colours matching if desired to achieve a consistent look.

The Kensington range is available on a 5 working day lead time in our seven most popular colours. Colours outside of this, as well as panels chosen from the Sandringham range, are available in 30 working days.

What are powder-coated front doors?
At Origin, we paint our doors using a method known as powder-coating, which can improve the durability of your customers’ doors. The heating process causes the powder coating to harden and provide a very durable, long-lasting, weather-resistant finish. Applied using an electrostatic process after a special pre-treatment, it is then cured at 200°C to form a robust coating that is tougher than conventional paint, whilst maintaining a completely smooth surface.
Powder-coating also allows us to offer a much wider selection of colours and shades than if we were using traditional paint. In addition to this, powder-coating is also better for the environment than traditional liquid paint.

Front door security options
Origin Front Doors are fitted with a multi-point locking system and a 3 Star Diamond cylinder as standard (if an offset or premium handle is selected). This cylinder protects against snapping, picking, drilling and bumping.
The multi-point 8-point lock was developed in-house by Origin and offers 8-points of locking. It conforms to all of the latest security standards including Document Q compliance, PAS 24:2016 and Secured by Design.
If your customer wants a bar handle, this will be supplied with the 5-point automatic locking system. The 5-point lock allows the user to simply shut the door and turn the key without the need to lift the handle first.
Below summarises the key differences between each locking system:
5-point automatic locking system | Unique 8-point locking system |
---|---|
Fitted on doors which have a bar or pull bar handle | Fitted to doors which have a security lever handle |
7016M | Anthracite Grey |
A lock that can only be disengaged with a key | 20 mm shoot bolts at the top and bottom of the track—these are chamfered (cut with angled corners) to make them smoother and more weatherproof |
Locks without having to lift the handle | Deep-throw security hooks—locking into the frame, these 25mm hooks are the deepest hooks currently available |
A thumbturn or cylinder pull option is also available.
High-security hinges – Origin Front Doors
Having a secured hinge pin that can’t be removed means there’s no way for a would-be intruder to knock out the pins and lever the door off the hinges. Origin Front Doors have four security hinges made of zinc. These hinges are specifically designed to prevent the doors being forced off from the outside.

Configuration and size options
Configuration options
Your customers can either choose a Single Front Door, or French Door option for a property development. The right choice will depend on the aperture size available, and the style of the property. Origin Front Doors can also open inwards or outwards. This allows you to choose the best external door option for the available space and surroundings.
