Panel options
Origin offers an option of having more glass in a front door, through to ultra-modern aluminium panels which feature no glass – there’s a style to suit every taste. If your customers opt for a panel option, they can choose between unique designs from the Sandringham and Kensington range. While some of these panels feature glass, there are some ultra-modern designs that only feature aluminium with no windows.
The Kensington Range comes with matt glass as standard on panels with glazing on a 1-week lead time. If satin or reflective glass is required, this is available on a 5-week lead time.
The Sandringham Range features matt, clear or reflective glazing options, and all are available on a 5-week lead time.
Please note: Origin only supply the Residential Door panels with glass already integrated. For windows, it will be your responsibility to source this for your customers.

Specifying a glazed door
If your customers choose a glazed door, Origin doors can be specified with 28mm or 32mm glazing unit sizes. From there, you can work with your customer to decide what’s best, whether it be reflected, annealed, toughened, acoustic or frosted, as long as it’s either 28mm or 32mm, the Origin door can accommodate it.
Please note: as above, you will need to specify and source the glass for your client.
A frosted glass option is shown below:
There is also the option to choose a door with a mid-rail, which separates sections in the door and can accommodate glass on both the top and bottom, or a panel can be used in the lower section for additional privacy.

Advising customers on choosing a glazing option
You need to consider the following factors when advising customers on what glazing and panel option to choose:
What is their preferred style and aesthetic?
If your customers are looking for an ultra-modern, minimalistic panel, a panel with no glazing from the Kensington or Sandringham range is ideal.
For example, the following panel type from the Sandringham range is perfect for customers who are looking for a sleek, unique design and aren’t prioritising natural light and glazing when choosing a design:

On the other hand, your customers may be looking for a busier design with more decorative elements and glazing. For example, the following panel design from the Kensington range features small windows, and more decorative elements:
If your customer opts for a panel option – you should advise them on choosing between matt, clear, reflective, and satin options, depending on their priorities and style requirements.
What level of privacy is your customer looking for?
On the Residential Door, we offer different types of integrated glazing in order to cater to various levels of privacy. We offer the frosted glass option if customers want more privacy than a panel featuring clear glass.
Do they want to incorporate natural lighting in the home?
If your customers opt for the panel option, they will be able to choose a design featuring glass to enjoy natural light in the home. On the other hand, if a customer chooses the fully-glazed front door option, you can choose and source clear glass for them, so more natural light floods into their home.
What are the benefits of choosing front doors with glazing?
Glass doors allow plenty of natural light to enter the home. You can advise customers that this will help to reduce energy bills, as less artificial light is required during the day.
A large glass entry door can also help to bring the outside into your customer’s home, which is a perfect option if your customer is for more of an unobstructed view of their outdoor surroundings.
